DMDN Hydantoin is a synthetic preservative and antimicrobial agent. As a “formaldehyde donor" it releases a small amount of formaldehyde over time to help keep products fresh and free from contaminants. It is deemed safe in skin care products by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Board.
