Spring Cleaning: A Guide to Healthier Skin

If your skin has been dry or flakey of late, you are not alone. Freezing weather, harsh winds, and dry indoor air all conspire to rob the moisture out of skin during the winter months, leaving it dry and cracked. Now that winter is almost behind us, it’s time to get your skin back up to speed. Below are 5 tips on how to get healthy and hydrated skin this spring.

1. WATER. DRINK IT.

Number one on our list is the easiest possible thing you can do. It’s so simple and routine, sometimes we simply forget the benefits of drinking water! The easiest way to hydrate your skin is to keep your body hydrated from the inside. Not to mention, it’s also good for your heart and kidneys. Try and drink at least a gallon of water every day for healthier looking skin.

2. COLD SHOWERS

Alright, alright... They don’t have to be FREEZING COLD, but hot water will also suck your skin dry of moisture. Hot water will also strip the oils from your skin, so avoid taking long hot baths and showers. Instead, use moderate-temperature water for shorter periods of time.

3. ADD ALOE TO YOUR SKIN CARE

ALODERMA offers not only Pure Aloe Gel, but every product produced by ALODERMA contains at least 65% organic aloe vera by weight and is designed to immediately go to work hydrating your skin. Using only fresh organic aloe vera, ALODERMA products deliver noticeable results even after your first use. It naturally locks in over 200 natural vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that are all known to promote healing repairing, and soothing for damaged skin cells. ALODERMA's 99% aloe gel and Aloe based skin care are certain to put a little spring in your step and skin this season!

4. ADD AVOCADO TO YOUR DIET

Your diet will affect the hydration of your skin and if you don’t already eat avocado, then you should consider it! Avocado contains numerous healthy fats that help keep your skin hydrated. You can also use it as a natural hydrating face mask to go along with your ALODERMA facial masks; just mash some avocado up in a bowl, add a teaspoon of avocado oil, and apply to your face for 5 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water.

5. HUMIDIFIER

Use a humidifier to keep moisture in your home and office air, or keep a bowl of water on your radiators to add moisture to the air. The higher the heat indoors, the less humidity there will be. It’s the humidity that helps your skin from drying out. It will also help you sleep better and it’s also healthy for your respiratory system.
